Pool Rules
At Hartridge Swim & Tennis Club, safety is our top priority.  All of our pool rules reflect safety and hygiene standards informed by county codes and member preferences.  If you have any questions regarding these rules or swim operations, please email swim@hartridge.org.
  1. The dates and hours of pool operation will be determined and announced by the Pool Committee. Hours will be posted at the pool and on the website at www.Hartridge.org.
  2. The pool manager may, at his or her discretion, close the pool during periods of inclement or bad weather and at any other time when he/she considers that safety and health are endangered. On occasion, the pool may be temporarily restricted from general use to permit special events and water programs as authorized by the Pool Committee.
  3. Disciplined pools are safe pools; therefore, discipline will be maintained at all times. No swimmer is exempt from discipline.
  4. Lifeguards must be respected and their instructions obeyed at all times.  Failure to obey lifeguard instructions will result in disciplinary action up to and including dismissal from the pool and revocation of pool use privileges.
  5. All members must sign in when they enter the pool area.
  6. There should be no solo swimming.
  7. All children under 12 years of age must be accompanied into the pool enclosure by a member or guest who is at least 14 years of age or older. This older person must provide careful supervision and attend to the younger child. Children age 12 and older are permitted to be at the pool unaccompanied during lifeguarded hours.
  8. Admission to the pool may be denied to any person having a skin infection, sore or inflamed eyes, a cold, nasal or ear discharge, communicable disease, excessive sunburn, open sores or wearing bandages of any kind.
  9. Admission will be denied to any intoxicated person. Any person intoxicated will be asked to leave the pool area.
  10. No animals are allowed in the pool or pool area. Pets may not be brought into the pool enclosure, left outside loose, or tied to a fence, tree, or other object.
  11. Children 5 years of age or older may not use the wading pool. Children permitted in the wading pool must be supervised at all times by a responsible person 14 years of age or older. Absolutely no flotation devices are allowed in the wading pool.
  12. All swimmers must shower before entering the pool.
  13. Persons with diarrheal illness or nausea should not enter the pool.
  14. Persons with skin, eye, ear or respiratory infections should not enter the pool.
  15. Persons with open lesions or wounds should not enter the pool.
  16. No cloth or disposable diapers are allowed in either pool.

Pool Parties:

Pool parties are welcomed at the pool.  One additional lifeguard is required for any party involving teenagers, college-age attendees or when alcohol is served. Additionally, any party with ten or more people must be registered with the Hartridge Pool Committee and requires an additional lifeguard at the individual's expense. The dollar amount will be determined by the pool service company.  For information about how to register a party with the pool service company, visit www.Hartridge.org and click on the Swim & Tennis link on the left side of the home page.

Pool Phone:

Use of the pool phone is primarily for the lifeguards. Members are allowed to use the phone, but are asked to limit the length of their calls to 3 minutes. Also, to reduce the number of damaged telephones, we ask you to keep the phone dry.
